Properties
of SuperSize
As SuperSize is an
Acrylated starch where the acrylic polymer is chemically
bonded with starch its ultimate effect is superior
to physical blending of starch with acrylic polymers.
SuperSize therefore, has much better adhesion,
flexibility & elongation then the mixtures of
the two separate ingredients mixed together.
As compared to ordinary starch, the viscosity of
SuperSize is much more uniform over a temperature
range ( 600C - 900C ) at which
sizing is normally carried out.
As the acrylic molecule is chemically grafted, its
resistance to fungal & bacterial attack is substantially
enhanced. Hence, solutions of SuperSize
can be stored for a longer period of time without
degradation.
Fabric's sizes with SuperSize are also less
prone to fungal & bacterial attacks.
